Ever heard a story like this.... On July 14, 2010, Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Erik Scott said more than 50 firefighters were battling a blaze, which started just before midnight Tuesday on East Slauson Avenue. The fire has engulfed an entire city block, he said, and has swallowed a complex of buildings that includes a two-story office area, a warehouse and as many as six occupancies. Efforts to contain the fire have been slowed because one of the buildings contains a storage of titanium, Scott said. A titanium fire cannot be battled with just water, he said, because water can cause it to grow in size and heat. Firefighters have attempted to smother the fire with foam, but they may have to let it burn out, Scott said. He predicted that it would burn out by the end of the day. We hear stories like this every day. When we get a call like this, we jump into action to resolve it immediately. The longer it takes to get to the scene, the larger the damage to our environment and higher chances of fire exist. Texas Strike Force Team does not waste time. We care about the environment and know that every second counts. Contact our emergency number above if you are in need of:
