Ever heard a story like this.... On May 14, 2010, A woman suffered shortness of breath and was hospitalized after some of the pesticides she was trying to purchase spilled. The Spokane Fire Department called out a hazardous materials team to both contain the spill and decontaminate the woman before she could be transported to an area hospital. The call reporting a woman out of breath came in at 4:49 p.m. at the Northwest Seed & Pet, 2422 E. Sprague Ave. The pesticide contained organophosphates, which attack the central nervous system and taken in significant doses can be deadly, Schaeffer said. She was exposed to the product in liquid form and also inhaled it. But, thankfully, the amount was not significant enough to cause permanent damage. Pesticide spills are dangerous to not only humans, but the earth and it's creature as well. We hear stories like this every day. When we get a call like this, we jump into action to resolve it immediately. The longer it takes to get to the scene, the larger the damage to our environment and higher chances of fire exist. Texas Strike Force Team does not waste time. We care about the environment and know that every second counts. Contact our emergency number above if you are in need of:
